The Musées de Genève showcase the city’s vibrant and diverse museum scene. Through collaborative events, they give the public many opportunities to explore the richness of their institutions.
European Artistic Crafts Days (JEMA)
The European Artistic Crafts Days (JEMA), organised in Geneva by the Association of Métiers d’Art Genève, offer the general public a unique opportunity to meet artisans whose crafts are often not widely known. The event takes place every year in March.
Geneva Museum Night
Museum Night (la Nuit des Musées) has been an unmissable annual event since 2013, and gives visitors the chance to discover Geneva’s cultural heritage after dark. A unique theme creates a unifying thread for the programmes of the 30 participating cultural and scientific institutions. The event is traditionally held in May.
Science Night
This event, held in La Perle du Lac Park in front of the Musée d’Histoire des Sciences, takes place once every two years in July. Throughout the weekend, there are workshops and scientific demonstrations for all audiences. It’s a fun event that brings science to life in an accessible and exciting way.
Museum conferences
These conferences provide a forum for reflection and discussion on current issues facing museum institutions. The meetings are intended for professionals and are open to anyone with an interest in the field.
